I have multiple students in my house/family. Is this the family price?
Yes.
Can they tutor at the same time with different subjects?
No.
Can package sessions be divided for more than one student in the family?
Yes. Derek requires an initial 1-1 session for each student.
Why is an initial parent consultation needed?
Yes.
Can I book a session for every day?
Yes.
Can I book sessions for twice a day?
Yes.
Can I book longer than 50 minutes?
The minimum is 50 minutes.
What if my student doesn’t have anything to work on this week and wants to skip a session?
Do not cancel.
Sessions are weekly.
Derek has 40 years of passing on wisdom to students. Some of the best sessions students remember are when they had conversations about goals, systems, executive functioning, purpose, dreams, and motivations while not in the rat race.
Can we move the session to another day/time of the week?
The most successful model is the same time and place. The consistency develops trust and reduces stress, cognitive load, and decision fatigue.
This is an expected routine that takes priority over school, church, sports. Everything else comes after your sessions with Derek because it’s expensive, valuable, and worth it.
Tutoring is scheduled by seasons. Think about sports and other commitments.
Are session packs refundable?
No, but they are transferable to others in the family.
How long is this rate effective?
If you keep membership of one session per week, then prices will never change.
If you skip a month or semester, you are subject to tutor market price.
How far in advance do we open the schedule to book your extra sessions?
(Derek normally books finals schedule by Spring Break.)
What is your cancellation policy?
Groups: no cancellation or rescheduling
5 pack: no cancellation
10 pack: 48 hours for cancellation
20 pack: 24 hours for cancellation
Can I call for one session?
No, this is a systematic process, procedure, mindset.
One session per week per student (not per family)
When does Derek release or open up his finals schedule?
Spring
March 1 for families who purchased 20 packs
April 1 for families who purchased 10 packs

Oct 1 for 20 pack
Nov 1 for 10 pack
When does Derek open up time for the next school year?
